I bought my kitten this year. When i searched for my kitten i was in contact with many breeders. How fast they respond vary alot. And is often obviously related to their life situation, work, kids etc. My advice to you is to trust your gut. Buy from someone you feel is reliable. A breeder you can turn back to for questions is worth its weight in gold. I have been lucky to find such a person, but before that i was in contact with several people who appear to me as someone i could trust, or hardly even beeing serious about their cats (for other than the money). But then again, i was not just shopping for a pet, my cat will go into breeding so i spent really alot of time on this.
Kittens get born all the time, and you will have the cat for many years. No need to rush it
