Hey! I am new to the forum. I recently acquired a Ragdoll kitten under some strange circumstances... I don't want to get into them here; it would just be too long to type out. However, the kitten is now mine, and I absolutely love her. Although, I haven't picked out a name for her. I really need to get on that! Rolleyes Anyway, I am curious as to what color she really is. Her breeder had previously told me she was a seal tortie mitted. However, after researching Ragdolls, I don't agree with this. I believe she is either a seal torbie mitted or a seal torbie bicolor. I know that her father was a blue bicolor and her mother was a seal torbie mitted. I am attaching a picture, and I can get new pictures if need be. The reason I am thinking torbie is because she has tabby-like markings in places on her back legs. This isn't show in the pictures. If anyone has any ideas as to what her color is, please let me know! Thanks!

She does seem to have lynx ear liner. (Non-lynx pointed cats can have "ghost banding" and this does not mean the cat is lynx.) The color on her nose would indicate she is mitted, but the legs are not shown. (Keep in mind that a tortie may have areas that will be red that are white during kittenhood.)
Hi and welcome! My uneducated guess is a lynx, based on her ears and small striping on her face. I'm not sure about her colour though.

Do you have a name for her yet? And any idea how old she is? Her eyes are beautiful - she has an adorable little face.
Thanks for the color ideas!! Smile It doesn't really bother me what color she is... I love her no matter what! I am just curious.

I do not have a name for her. I am working on that. I take forever to pick out names! So, if you have any suggestions, let me know! She is also about 12.5 weeks old. Right now, I have her in my bedroom so she doesn't get into too much trouble. My 10 year old Collie has taken her on as her baby! Tongue Any time the kitten cries, she is over there to make sure she is okay. It's really cute.
really? she's 12.5 weeks old?? she looks so little! but still way adorable Smile can't wait to see more pics!
Well, in that picture, I think she was 9 weeks old. I will have to get updated pictures soon! She probably is still small for a Ragdoll. I got her as a very, very sick kitten... guess I will go into her story! Tongue I know her breeder, and I saw the litter when they were young -- about 5 weeks old. For some reason, I fell in love with this little cat! BUT, I told myself I did not need a kitten, a good home would come along for her. About a week later, the kitten started doing poorly. We think now she had become stressed out for whatever reason (vaccine? deworming? recent move?) and ended up with coccidia. The breeder was treating her with albon, and she seemed to be improving... but then, she started doing a strange thing where she would gag after she ate. Back to the vet she went. She was put on more medicine and the Science Diet A/D canned food. By this point, I had offered to care for her until she got healthy again since her breeder works a full time job and would not be able to be home with her all day. So, the next day after the vet's, she was doing much better. Although she was still sick, I thought she would pull through. Fast forward another day, and she was worse than she had ever been. She could not eat at all, and I started to lose hope on her making it. The breeder and I took her back to the vet's office, and this time they did x-rays... still they found nothing wrong with her. She no longer had coccidia, she did not have an upper respiratory infection, nothing was caught in her throat, her esophagus was fine, etc. She ended up staying at the vet's for 2-3 days and made a miraculous recovery. The only thing we can think that happened was maybe she was already sick and got something caught in her throat which agitated it to the point where she couldn't eat properly, only making her sicker. Anyway, at the end of her ordeal, her breeder told me if I wanted her, I could have her... and of course, I jumped on the opportunity! Since I already fell in love with her a couple weeks before, and it just seemed like it was meant to be.

Sorry for rambling on! The kitten is doing excellent now, and I am just so happy that I am the one she ended up with! Smile
Aww, poor little mite. Good for you for taking her on and getting her well.

For names, how about Faith, Hope, Angel... I'm just thinking of something that reflects her amazing recovery.
I would also say an adorable seal torbie mitted, very cute!
I would call her Miracle and what an amazing story. I am so glad that you were there to give a hand and what a reward you got.
Wow, don't know how I missed her story, but what a great ending it had!
