Good Morning All,

We went to a rummage sale last week that has changed our lives. In a dog crate was the most beautiful kitten I have ever seen, with a sign that said "abandoned kitten needs loving home." A lady with multiple allergies esp. cats took her in at 4 weeks....bottle fed her, for a short time, and switched her to dry food. We brought home a very hungry baby. After no pets for 10 years, and no kitties for over 20 yrs. We were busy for a few days. Long story shortened ..lol. Vet says she is darling and healthy....started health care...eating like a little piglet and has grown in the last week.

Now the ragdoll part. Cousin said she looks like a ragdoll (he has one). After checking web sites, she fits every description both appearance and personality traits. I have tried to attach a pic to this entry, but can't for some reason. Perhaps someone could help as I would love to share her with the world. If she isn't a ragdoll, she will always be our ragdoll...or at least a doll.anyway. I realize she is likely a mixed breed kitten, due to the abandoned part...altho how anyone could have separated her from the mother I can't understand.

She is MsSniff_2 since my user name for 8 years has been MsSniff_1. Nickname "Sniffy". She is champagne with soft chocolate brown eartips and tail and pads of her feet, white feet, a mask of beige exactly symmetrial on her cheeks, round blue eyes, and long ear hairs and whiskers. Her fur is as soft as rabbit fur.....another feature I see is typical. And, she loves to be loved, held and cuddled..of course most kittens do. But this one sleeps on her back with paws over her head, loves belly rubbed and feet massaged, and hangs like a "rag" when we hold her. She doesn't talk much but eyes and ears tell all. She does the "murrring" thing with me mostly.

Enough I know... If anyone has any thoughts on how to share a pic, if she is a raggie, and can mixed breed mom's still share this site/forum??

Thanks,
Nola....Sniffy's mom
Hi Nola,

Welcome to the forum! Of course you can stay on this site, whether Sniffy is a purebred, Raggie cross, or moggie. There's a tutorial on how to load photos - look for it on the main page. Sniffy sounds adorable (good for you for taking her in!). We'd love to see photos.

Ragdolls are a new and comparatively rare breed - and have always been expensive. Few whole Ragdolls have escaped into feral colonies. It is VERY unlikely a kitten found will have any Ragdoll in her ancestry. Ragdolls are a non-extreme breed, which means that one or more - or even many - Ragdoll characteristics can show up in moggies. In fact, Ragdolls were developed when these characteristics were noticed in a random bred litter - and then bred to produce predictable presence of them in kittens.
Welcome aboard! She sounds wonderful. Raggie or not, you're absolutely welcome here and I hope will enjoy it here. You'll find lots of great tips on general kitten and cat care and grooming long haired kitties, etc.

I can't to see your baby! Here is the tutorial Coral mentioned, which was made by our fabulous member Teresa...

Hello and welcome to the forum. Can't wait to see pics of your kitty. I'm sure she beautiful and blessed that you found her.
Hi, and welcome to the forum!! I do hope you can get pics uploaded -- and you're more than welcome here! It sounds like you may be in the same position I was with my first "non-ragdoll" that looked and acted like a ragdoll, and hence how I found the ragdoll breed. When Simon died, I wanted another cat that was like Simon and ended up adopting two ragdolls. So, watch out -- they're addictive, and before long you may be looking to purchase a ragdoll.

(Ok, I'm going to use this as an excuse to post a pic of my wonderful Angel Simon who looked like a seal point, and acted like a raggie....but sadly wasn't)
