Unofficially, I will be getting a seal mitted female from a breeder in a neighboring state. It will be the end of October or beginning of November before she is ready to leave her mother. That will work out perfectly, since I have a scheduled vacation in October. When I saw her picture, the first thing I said is,"She's beautiful!". So, I am planning to name her Kalli which means beautiful. Now, I get to have the fun of purchasing her litter box, toys, etc. (I'll have to watch myself so I will not go overboard)

I am definitely planning to get another cat as soon as I am able.

Today when I told some people my good news all they could do was sneer up their noses at me and say,"EWWWW!! They're EXPENSIVE!". I know that the economy is still weak. However, I also know that I am not trying to flount (sp?) in anyone's face that right now I have made the choice to use some of the money that I have earned to adopt a Ragdoll cat. Hey, if I had the money back that I have spent helping others I could get a house full of Raggies.

If you want to be admired for your wisdom in getting a Ragdoll, then you have come to the right place. ; )

Don't worry about what other people think - it's your decision and it sounds like Kalli will have a loving home. Congratulations!

What a great decision and she probably costs less than one of those big LCD TVs that people buy but won't be able to enjoy as long as you're able to enjoy Kalli - so tell them to back off!!

Since it is your hard earned money it is your decision how to spend and enjoy it. AKC puppies cost about the same if not more than Ragdolls.

If you averaged the cost of the kitten over the lifespan then the cost is on averge $50 per year.

You can not put a price on happiness.

My seal mitted female has turned out to be a seal mitted male. I have read on this forum of that happening. The breeder sent me pictures of a female that she has. However, I have decided to keep my name on Kalli. Of course, I changed his name since Kalli is a female name. I am naming him Gabriel. I really am not upset or disappointed. I am just looking forward to getting ready first for little Gabriel then for another.

The only creature better than a seal mitted girl is a seal mitted boy. ; )
