I feel like I've read that kittens should always have food available.
As we're getting close to the time that Newman will have the run of the place and not be isolated in his own room even part time..this is the one thing I'm worried about.
I have a diabetic adult that cannot be allowed to eat dry food. He's quite the piggy and I have no doubt he will eat every bite of dry kitten food if he can get to it. I don't want to consider isolating him.
If I offer Newman food four times a day but he doesn't have food left down available to him at all times - will that be ok? (I'd supervise when I feed him so my diabetic adult can't get to his dry kitten food. I'm less concerned about the canned kitten food but they'd still gobble it up if allowed to)
I could feed him twice in the morning and twice at night but there'd be a long stretch in the middle most days where he wouldn't have food available. Will that be ok? Hopefully he'll eat the 4 times I feed him. I'm noticing now that he has a good appetite but would rather play than eat and is easily distracted.
Thanks for any input!
