....and then my little boy will be at home!

I'm looking forward to it...everything is ready to welcome Byron and we are so excited. Yet, since it's been AGES since I had a kitten around, I'm afraid I'm a bit rusty as far as these little rascals are concerned....Honestly I must admit I'm a bit paranoid....Please tell me that looking after a kitten when you already raised three cats in your life is just like riding a bike...

I hear you! It had been awhile since I had a kitten as well and I had my last 2 cats in an apartment when they were babies, not a house! I was afraid I would lose him....ok we did lose him once for about 8 hours..he was hiding under the china cabinet. That's the biggest tip, they can hide into very small places! But they are so cute and cuddly and fun! How exciting for you!
yeah, that's it! They hide in impossible places. Plus they eat strings and all. Plus they easily have belly issues. Plus.....they are WONDERFUL!!

But what really scares me is Sunny Jade's reaction. I need her to accept the baby. I know the slow introduction procedure and all, but......she is as friendly as an angry tigress so I'm "slightly" worried. I'll be off work for four weeks for summer holidays and I'm going to spend as much time as I can with my cats just in order to accomodate the kitten and be sure SJ will at least tolerate him. After my other two cats' death SJ was spending too much time all alone home while we are out working and it seemed to me it was unfair for her to be that lonely so I eventually decided to have another cat to be her buddy. But who knows how she'll react. Ok, I'll let you know. I'm sorry I currently have no PC at home so you'll have to wait until Sept. 7th for updates to come.....I do hope everything will be ok. Please keep sending good vibs towards Italy.......

No way!!! We have to wait until Sept 7th????? You're going to have to go to your public library or find an Internet cafe somewhere!!!
Wishing you all the best with you and your new little one. I bet it will be easier than you think!!

Teresa,
Are you getting another kitten as well? What pattern/color? Woooohoooo, I love babies!!!!
I'm sure everything will be fine. You have the luxury of four whole weeks to make sure Byron and SJ get on and it's far easier to introduce a kitten to an older cat than to introduce another adult. Enjoy your holiday, and enjoy Byron as a kitten, they grow up all too soon!
I no how you feel,,, I was so nerves about Lelay and Cello....and now there playing and sleeping together it took about a week for Cello to see what a little sweet heart Leyla is.You will be fine !
What an exciting time!!....Enjoy!!
I have a cat with attitude and let me tell you she has accepted them better than I ever thought but if she is mean which at times she was she had time out and if it was the babies who started it then I took them to their safe room. I can say tho I am so glad I got the boys. It does all come back. The hardest part was making sure there was no place for them to hide. We do have to keep something insdie my organ pedal as they always wanted to get into there. Now they are too big I think.
I do wish you much luck as I know you will know what to do. It is natural for us to all wonder if we will know but remember love bears all things including mishaps with our animals.
God Bless
