A Greyhound comb is a style of comb and most pet supply stores have some version of it.

The lion cut was developed for Persians who matted so badly it was the only alternative. You should not expect a Ragdoll to matt that badly. (In pointed cats, it has the complication of darkening the coat, which takes some time to correct itself after the fur grows back out.)

The lion cut was developed for Persians who matted so badly it was the only alternative. You should not expect a Ragdoll to matt that badly and cats do not need it done to deal with heat. If it is that hot, then they are better kept in a cooler place. In general, will find the warmest spot out of the direct sun and will love warmth. SueK Wrote:I'm not sure where you are, but during my stay with Teresa in the US this year, I bought a "Pet Hair Eliminator" from "Petsmart" and have found it to be absolutely excellent. It is a rubber bristled "brush"

Just to add my 2 cents -- I of course, saw what Sue bought, and it's basically like a zoom groom, but has a handle and in my opinion is much easier to manage than the zoom groom (of which I have one). Might want to consider comparing the differences if you happen to be where they have both.

Here's a pic of it....

She didn't tell you the extra benefit -- you can also use it to get hair off your clothes and furniture!
Ah! I have that same green rubber brush! It works really well (on the cat AND on furniture). I also use a metal fine toothed comb. Atrus had a little mat one time below his ear in his ruff, but that's it. Depending on his mood he may be more interested in trying to chew on the brush than getting groomed, other times he stands still and purrs or will flop over on his side. It is difficult to brush his belly because then he wants to roll around and play. When I start brushing him I start with his back, the motion is just like being petted and he likes that, then he is happy and I can move on to other areas.
I bought the zoom groom today for my little one. It seems like it will be nice.
I'll look for zoom (or similar) at Petco this week. I did pick up Pledge's pet hair fabric sweeper. Havent used it yet.
Thanks for the suggestions.
A greyhound comb works great! Smile

Yes, but not off of your bottom in my experienceWink!!
I ordered my zoom groom today from Amazon as well as the Omega Cat rolling litter box. I have not been able to find it at the stores and was ordering some other things so figured I might as well tack that on since it was free shipping. Gotta love ordering from your computer at home!
