Hi & welcome to the forum. Cats adjust really well to change so I am sure they will do well with time. Please post pictures of your beautiful babies when you can.

What a beautiful boy, glad all is going well; this is such an exciting time, seeing them settle in and become part of your family!

More updates on Benito/Zeus and Julianna/Abby:
Since they seem to be more comfortable in my home it was decided that we would leave the bedroom door open during the night. At first neither cat seemed interested in leaving the bedroom because I was in it (I was going to bed). I brought Mercedes up to bed so she lays on her blanket at the foot of the bed. I wanted to say good night to both kitties so I call them. Benito, who always wants pets, poked his head out from underneath the bed and in the mist of getting pets from me Mercedes looks over the edge of the bed, wagging tail attempting to smell/make friends. While I was still petting him he looked at her, opened his mouth and hissed at her. I asked Mercedes to "Blanket" which means for her to go lay down. I told Benito that he was okay and I would not let her hurt him while I continued to pet him. I have to admit it was the most woosy hiss I have ever heard from a cat. My experiences with hissing is that it can be pretty intense coming from the back of the throat but Benito's was well...not very loud or dramatic. I wanted to laugh but did not as I did not want to embarrass or hurt his feelings but it was funny. Benito must be a lover not a fighter. LOL.
Since the dog does sleep with me I know they can smell her and she can smell their scents. This is why the poor dog is trying to make friends with them. She knows they are there and wonders why they will not come and meet her. I am taking this really slow but at the same time sticking to my normal routine with the dog. Either Benito is not that worried about her hence the woosy hiss which is what I am hoping is the case or he felt that he had to "protect" me since he was with me when she hung her head over the bed (Benito and I were on the floor and I was petting him) I don't know if cats do this kind of thing. I am more apt to believe that she probably surprised him and he reacted.
Julianna took all this in stride. She is such a queen and is way more laid back than at the breeders home. For now I pet her when she asks and will pick her up and hold her. Very rarely will she not want to be held but if she asks to be picked up and then wants down too soon I will hold her until I feel her relax then will set her down on my terms. This is going really well and she follows me around all the time as does Benito. They are fine with sharing me with each other.
Both are drinking from the fountain and I had to refill the little water holder part. Both are eating fine and using the litterbox. Yesterday during the day one of them had pooed on the ledge of the litterbox. The poo was a bit soft and creamy but not runny. Not sure which one it belonged too. I cleaned up the box and went on the archaeological dig for waste. This morning Julianna felt comfortable enough to use the litter box while I was in there getting ready for work. She is such a good girl. Both are using the cardboard turbo thing for scratching but I really need to get them something they can stretch to scratch so they can have some kind of variety. Benito is always laying on that thing and I am not sure why. How comfortable can cardboard be to lay on? Funny.
I left for work with Julianna laying on my bed and Benito laying on the turbo thing. Today kind of sucks because I will not be able to get home until close to 10PM. It will be my sister and housemate Lupe who get to enjoy them today. Since they are comfortable with the whole upper level of the house it is time to free them from my bedroom and set up their stations in their permanent spots. I will probably do this on Friday when I am home all day so I can observe them with the change.
What is the best way to help the cats get use to the dog? At this time I am leary with posing any "introductions". So far I am letting them get exposed to her scent and her with their scents. I am not rushing anything but wonder what the next step would be.
Take care,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry I can't answer your question about your Raggies and the dog, but it sounds like you're doing a great job of helping them settle. I saw Zeus/Benito's photo and he's gorgeous. I'm like Jane - I have a thing for the blue lynx Raggies.
