WOW! You all are truly amazing! Your responses were great and I never knew I would get so many! OK here is the update:
1. The Flame mink is a flame point mink. I thought he was precious.
2. THe picture of the blue bicolor is a blue bicolor lynx. I did not know much about the lynx pattern and coloring. Any input?
3. She has 3 litters of kittens right now. THe flame point being ready right now, the blue bicolor lynx being ready in 1 week or 2. And the blue bicolor being ready in early September.
4. She sent me the picture of the blue bicolor lynx and that is the picture I posted for you all, but I kept thinking it was the blue bicolor. Because on her website it would say the blue bicolor lynx was sold.
5. This was all happening in a matter of a day so this was all sent through emails and talking on the phone. I decided I LOVED The picture of the blue bicolor because every time I would look at it, my heart would just melt. And I loved the way he layed on his left paw. I decided waiting until September would be worth it.
6. Then she told me "No he is available in 2 weeks." OK so I was confused! Because on the website it said he was born later than the sold blue bicolor lynx. She said that the lady who wanted the lynx was older and needed to get one later because she was having surgery. So the picture I fell in love with was the lynx and she could sell to me. The older lady was going to wait to get the one in September.
7. So I hope I am doing right with going with the lynx. My son is excited because the lynx has the same birthday he has. He is already planning his birthday and the cats for next year!
8. We are actually going to drive over next week to see the kitten. And yes I did check many references for this breeder and all of them highly recommended her!
9. I've never even seen a picture of the blue bicolor. Maybe best so I don't try to steal that one too!
10. The kids are excited because we will get the kitten before they start school.
11. I asked the lady about their personalities and she said I could not go wrong with either 2. She said the flame point was very playful and maybe a little more than the lynx, but she said he was also a few weeks older than the lynx. The lynx is very cuddly she said. She had another male from the same litter, but she did not think he would be a good match for us.

OK I think I have covered it all! I hope this was all not so confusing! Please let me know what you all think! Am I doing the right thing?
Now I just need to check into which cat litter you all like! I'll hop over to those threads!
wow! that sounds wonderful Smile so you are going to be getting the kitten you really liked the most to begin with ! lol

funny how things work out. I just got a blue lynx mitted a week ago and I could not be happier! He is beautiful! The blue lynx bicolors are also gorgeous. Congratulations on making your decision Smile
I just went back and had a look at your new little man and I have to say he doesnt look lynx to me but either way he is a gorgeous little boy, Congratulations!

I dont know where you live but if in Australia I recommend Oz-Pet litter. I would use what your breeder is using firstly though. Smile
Sounds like a perfect match to me.
You have to get the blue now since it has its next birthday all planned.Smile
I love a happy ending.

Lynx adds tabby striping to the points, including the distinctive M on the forehead. Lynx also have white on the edges of the ears, around the eyes, on the muzzle, etc. (Some of this will be covered by white in a bicolor.) I would not have thought the picture you posted was of a lynx, but photographs can be misleading. Lynx is dominant and can be combined with any point color. (Shadow striping is a fault in pointed cats and also shows light striping and should not be confused with the cat being lynx.)
Hmm I didn't think he was a lynx but he is so adorable who cares? Big Grin And he shares a birthday with your son, that sounds like perfect Smile I thought he looked a little big right now to be only ready to leave in September but then pics can be very misleading! It's so great that you will be able to visit next week. You will be able to see by yourself which kitty is the best match.
Most kittens are very playful so I woudln't worry here. Sometimes it's actually nice to have one that likes to cuddle and not only run around like crazy. I wish Ebony would rest from time to time Big Grin Maybe next week Wink
Maybe you should request a new pic from the breeder of your kitten because the one you posted earlier sure doesn't look like a lynx. I'd hate you to not get the kitten you think you're getting when you get there!

As for litter -- use whatever the breeder is using to begin with - then you can change over to something else -- same with the food.
It does sound a little confusing but you will be able to see for yourself next week when you visit and pick which one is best for you then. I agree with the others, the one in the photo doesn't look like a lynx but I still think he is gorgeous.

Just for reference, Evie is a blue lynx bi-colour so I've put some photos on so that you can see what he may look like as he grows.

Congrats to you. I loved the blue bicolor one. I didn't see any lynx either but they are slow in showing their stripes sometimes.

My Teddy is a seal bicolor lynx and his picture is on my signature. He is 11 weeks now & it sounds like yours is around his age. I think my Teddy is going to be a dark lynx. His ears and tail are very dark but I love dark chocolate!!
Oh Jane, you had to go and post pics of the gorgeous Evie! Don't you know you'll make everyone jealous??

I love all the lynx bi-colours. They're stunning.
