hi all,

okay so u have been introduced to Jules. now we have a problem.

my mum and dad are getting no sleep because she just talk, talk, talks all through the night. my dad is a truckdriver so he really needs sleep.

oh and it does matter wether she is in the room or out in the house she still talks all through the night

can someone please help????
Some cats are very vocal - and nothing can be done about that. Some talk based on the circumstances (like being new to the household and calling for members of the old household) - and as those change, the vocalization will diminish. Some talk for attention. That one can be dealt with. You have to totally ignore it. Even negative responses to it are a pay off to the cat.

If someone cannot ignore the talking (and it becomes easier when you are not worried about it) or drown it out with white noise, then put the cat in a room with food, water, bedding, toys, litter and company if possible far enough away to allow sleep for the period of sleep. Then let her out and give her loving.
I had the same problem after getting Simone. The totally ignoring does work -- don't move, don't get up to go to the bathroom, don't say anything, and after about 3-4 nights she finally quit waking us up meowing all the time.
