Your mom might want to look into things that are 'not good' or even poisonous to cats though.
Better safe than sorry.
She can just Google 'things that are poisonous to cats and various sites will come up.
I learned a lot from them.

If there were a couple of fleas found then you can almost guarantee that there were more and these could have caused the dehydration. If he's kept up-to-date with the Revolution then hopefully the fleas won't come back and Mink will stay happy and healthy.
