Here's my new baby boy (haven't thought of a name yet) I can't wait to bring him home! He's just over 5 weeks in this photo. Do you think his coat will get longer and fluffier as he grows up or will he probably wind up with a shorter coat?

When we got our second ragdoll Blue, I was dismayed because his coat was not fluffy, nor soft. I didn't think his fur would be as soft as our female and I was upset. This was when he was 12 weeks. Now he is 9 months, and his coat is so long, thick and soft I have to brush him, and it is beautiful. So don't worry, his coat will fill in.
thanks! that makes me feel better. i haven't seen him in person yet. he looks pretty cute (to me) in the picture i posted but it did occur to me he doesn't look long and fluffy. i'm not even sure if they ever do at 5 weeks old! i love him already but long and fluggy would be nice!
It will for sure get thicker. My Mykah still is not as fluffy as his brother Zeke but it is beginning to thicken up. I do believe it is called patience. They change so much and congrats.
thanks! yours are GORGEOUS. they all are. i think i could look at ragdoll photos all day long. seriously!

now i need to come up with a really good name for him. i had thought i was settled on Newman (after Paul Newman - for the blue eyes but it just isn't working for me...)

my latest idea is "Melo" but i'm not 100% loving it either.
Ebony's coat was a little rough when he came at 12 weeks and I was a little troubled by it as Diwan's fur had been soft from day one. But now 2 months later his coat is so very soft it's a pleasure to run my fingers through it. So far his fur isn't very long but it's summer so I'm not expecting his fur to grow long for now.
What a cute little guy!!
He is so cute, thank you for sharing his picture. Smile
