IMHO, you need at least 5 for that, and you need to be single and completely prefer your cats to all other lifeforms.
I think, 3 cats aren't any more difficult than two depending on the cat's purrsonalities and how willing other household members are to tolerate them.
UMMMMM... I have 3 animals and often take fosters when money allows. I make 3 nights a week to stay at home with my furrkids. Maybe that's why I'm single! I cancelled two dates this week! LOL

It may be better to wait until you are safely settled into your new home and everyone has adjusted. You may need to budget for higher household expenses and extra time/work cleaning etc.

I totally agree ... I have just been hammered with two new kittens .... so much extra work when they are sick and SOOOOOOOOOOOOO expensive
