Uh oh ..
We have a problem.
I mentioned in another post how Humphrey made Missy mad by being a bit to touchy in regards to her trying to suss out his “removed” man hood area ..
It has gotten A LOT worse !
Missy has become very aggressive towards Humphrey.
If he walks past her – she swats him.
If he wants cuddles from me, she swats him or pushes him out of the way so she gets the attention.
If he wants to eat, she’ll follow him and as soon as he goes to eat – she *drum roll* SWATS him.
His being a good boy by ignoring it and just running off or swatting her back, but that makes her more mad to the point where she pounches on him and starts to bite .. not love bite .. I mean BITE him!
So we’ve separated them for now.
Missy being in the bathroom – and Humphrey being in the spare bedroom.

Just this morning when I went to clean out her tray, she’s run out of the bathroom and straight into Humphrey’s room and jumped on him – OUT OF NOWHERE !!! As soon as the door was open she ran for it .. its like that’s all she was thinking about all night .. “Hmmm when mummy opens the door – that’s my chance”

Jayv thinks it might be because Humphrey now smells different because he hasn’t got testosterone flowing through him – but that sounds wrong for some reason ..

Is this normal? Will it pass? I don’t really want to have to separate them all the time *sighs*

Maybe it is the smell from the vets office yet. I hope it gets better real soon for you all. I have a girl who swats and swats hard but as I call her Miss catitude will do that for anyone including people she does not know or care for.

I agree, most probably the scent from the vet office...give them a few days and monitor the situation!

The key, which you do not mention, is how he responds. If he needs protection, then keep them apart except under supervision. Otherwise, you can probably let them sort it out as long as it does not get too intense. Interactive games involving them both are always a good idea - wands, etc.

He tends to ignore her - when she tries to get in his face, he just walks off - or he will swat her back, but in a playful manner, but she still persists with annoying him or being mean to him.

I will try getting them to play using toys - maybe the new remote control mouse I bought haha

In that case, he does not seem bothered. I would not worry about it. Cats are pretty good at setting limits with each other and it seems that is what they are doing - and need to do.

I agree with Paula and the others, it's the strange smell, he probably has the smell on antiseptic on his wound site!

I’ve just gotten a call from Jayv – who is at home babysitting the furballs !

Missy has hurt Humphrey in a way I didn’t think she could – Jayv went outside for 5 minutes to have a cigarette and has come back inside to find a trail of blood from the kitchen to the lounge room.

His found Humphrey in the lounge underneath Missy who has her mouth around his scruff and quote “she was dragging him around”

THAT LITTLE !@#!@#&!%&!#$&!#$&#@!&!@&#*@! She better wait til I get home – no more treats or cuddle time for her for a few days !!

Anyway I am not allowed to leave work because my bosses are A*HOLES .. but Jayv is bringing Humphrey to the vet just to get his ear cleaned up and also to have a look at Humphrey’s scruff because its quite “puffy” looking.

My poor baby was bitten and beaten up .. 

I am sure you are all aware as to how big Missy is compared to Humphrey – a vet said she may be part “Maine Coon” because she’s so huge .. but anyway that’s besides the point ..

Jayv said Missy has been put into the bathroom with her bed, 1 toy, food and water – he didn’t think she deserved more of her toys and he scowled at her (but didn’t hit – we never hit out cats) and she has been meowing and meowing to get out.

Just needed to quickly vent – I am so so so mad at her !!!!! GAHHH RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
