Is there anything more exciting than going to get a new family member? I can hardly wait to see photos.
Ok, well things are going well so far! He is very quiet but even in a few hours he is starting to come out of his shell. He played a bit on the floor with us. He loves to be held and cuddled. My only concern is that he seems very thin. I can feel his ribs pretty prominently! I tried to feed him some of the kibble that the breeder gave me and he wasn't interested....sooooooo.... I broke the first cardinal rule and fed him some canned (of the same brand/type) so I figure it shouldn't be as new to his system as some. Point being....he was very interested in the canned. I wonder how much of the dry he was eating? She told me 1/3 of cup/day. Anyway, I will take him to the vet in a couple of days for his assessment (I need to for his health guarantee). He also seemed very sleepy and slept in the car on the way home and a lot the first couple of hours, but like I said he perked up after I fed him and had some playtime. I will keep you posted and (attempt) to post some pictures!
Don't worry, Ruthann. I'm sure once he gets comfortable in his new surroundings he'll be very playful, which in turn will make him hungry. It might take him a few hours or more to use his litter box as well. Just enjoy having him home. Smile

When I brought Teddy home at 13 weeks, he had a good look around the place and then promptly fell asleep on the couch with me for a few hours. I can't remember what he did regarding food, but I remember that he didn't use his litter box until the middle of the night.
Ruthann I had exactly the same problem with Ebony. He absolutely refused to eat any of his kibble so after two days I gave in too. They can be very stubborn Big Grin
Glad he's home and hopefully will adjust soon!

Hi Ruthann, I'm glad to hear that you got home safely and jasper is settling in well. Don't worry too much about him being sleepy, he is still a baby and they do sleep a lot and like human babies car journeys make them tired too. Can't wait to see the photos!!
Ruthann,
No need in worrying because he will eat and at first ours slept too much like a real baby would. His eating was slow but I just waited because they do have a way of training us. I do give them wet food at least for one day but never at the same time. For me it is also a great tool for introducing the babies.

Mykah is a tad more shy than Zeke but is lively. We let him roam a couple of rooms each day with all of them out and of course we supervise and so far so good.

So all in all remember once they begin to eat they do begin to get a tad pudgy. Zeke is at 5.3# and is 18 weeks old.
Mykah is 2.8# at 12 weeks. Next week he will be 3 months. Time sure goes fast.

Enough as I wanted to show you how they grow.
