I'm just wondering -- I happened to have my camera last night when the girls started doing "their thing". I usually don't break them up, just let them get on with it, but it still bothers me. Is this fighting or playing? At the end where I stopped filming, Samantha just walked away and out of the room. Less than a minute later, she was back in and her and Simone were laying on the floor within 3 feet of each other. Sorry the room looks so messy - the girls love to play in tissue wrapping paper so I had a bunch out on the floor for them.

Play .
Oh Teresa,

First let me say, they are beauties!

My vote is it was a cat spat. The video so represents what my kids have done in the past. It's usually soon forgotten and yes, we've had to break them up. Sometimes my youngest would fly through the house, then maybe clip one, by accident, then the one that got clipped said, hey gal and pursue post haste. When they'd come to a rest, they'd do the stick out the leg things, wrestle, some fur may come off and then eventually, ususally the kid would end it or if I thought things were getting out of paw, I'd end it. It was never frequent, but just like people, sometimes they would get on each others nerves and most often I couldn't figure out what started it.
LOL. i love sam in the middle looks like she about to cuddle next to her sister then BOOOOM attack. she sure looks like shes acting as an alpha female. in the video it seems like she initiates it. it seems like play to me but i dont have alot of experience in this matter sorry miss t
Thanks for the input...and one more question. Sometimes Simone does a type of keening meow right before "attacking", is it still play?
Still play.

Theresa that video really made me laugh only because Charlie and Finnegan do that a lot, but like you said after its over they are laying right next to each other and are fine. Im not really sure what it is either, but i didnt hear any growling or spitting in your video so i def wouldnt worry about it. I think in my case Charlie is letting Finny know who is boss in this house!! Maybe sam is doing the same thing LOL
Teresa, your girls are so pretty and Simone looks so cuddly, whould love to have her for a foot warmer in the winter.
That looks like play to me all so Teresa. That's how Cello and Oscar play

My Timmy is bolshy and is often found doing this to Emmy &/or JJ. I always put a stop to it as to mind it is a dominence thing and although Timmy had to fight for survival at birth he has no need to do so now and I won't allow it. I too sometimes get the meow which I consider a warning to the others. Timmy also will try to dominate both Lizzy & Jet and then that could be quite volatile.
Oooh thats a tricky one. You know your cats and you know how they react to such events. However, my initial reaction is that its a dominance war between them. I personally would be stopping it but then my tolerance for any sort of bad feeling is minimal and i prehaps intervene when I should leave.
