Do any of you have a steam cleaner that is used on floors? With little ones coming I'm paranoid that I'll leave some soap residue on the floors and they'll pick it up on their little feet. I've seen a few infomercials with them but hesitate to spend money on something I can't see, feel and inspect. Are there any out there that really work as advertised? Do any of you have one?
Hi Diane,

we have one, my other half loves it and adores it.
we brought our of ebay.
maybe have a look on ebay
I have the Bissell steam mop. I've had it almost a year now. It's a wonderful steam mop. In my apartment they put the cheapest flooring possible and it has never been so shiny!! It looks like it's been waxed it's so shiny. I got mine off of HSN when it was a Today's Special.

My girlfriend bought the H20 steam mop but hers isn't as good as mine. She said it's hard to push on the floor and I have to say her floor which is a better grade of vinyl then mine is NOT as shiny as my floor is.

Also when you get one don't use fabric softener in the wash or in the dryer. It messes with the pads somehow. I just hand wash mine or sometimes throw it in the wash and air dry it. My girlfriend washed & dried hers and now whatever dirt that's left on the pad goes back on the floor. I don't have that problem. Even though it's stained it doesn't go back on the floor.

Thanks Danni and Dorothy. I did look on ebay and found one I think looks good. I had run across that model on the net somewhere, an allergy site, I think. I've been reading reviews from consumers and trying to get a feel on the different makes and models and I don't want to spend too much but I don't want to skimp either. I initially wanted one just for the floor, but we do have mold issues in our part of the country, so it would be nice to have something with attachments to zap that stuff. Anywhere moisture accumulates, especially around windows from sweating in the cold winters, I have to really keep on top of that stuff. My MIL also has a damp basement, so it might come in handy for her too where mold is concerned. I'll think a bit more the next day and then get one on order.

I also thought it might be good on cleaning litter pans?
