we have the next door neighbour cats whom come to visit so they sit at the door and titan goes on his meowing expidition. the meow is really strange, its like a purr and a meow all at once. he doesnt seem threatened its more like he wants to meet them i dont know. does nayone have experience in this???

thanks
I'll bet he's saying -- Hi there and do you want to play with me because my Mom hasn't given me a playmate yet -- but I keep hoping!!
I bet Teresa is rightSmile
I agree, Titan is trying to invite them for a party!!

Absolutely. I've been compiling at Cat to English and I'm familiar with this idiom because I've heard it before. Many times.
i thought it was indeed. mummy needs the okay from daddy. and currently daddy isnt playing ball. plus his brothe/sister hasnt been born yet but we are expecting them in a wek or so...

the meow is soo cool. when we close the door or the other cat goes away he looks at me mortifyngly and starts on a whole new rampage of meowing. LOL

Now that is guaranteed to be a bestseller!!
I started with a 'cat wisperer' website I can't relocate now.

It said that the way to get a cat to go somewhere is to look directly at the cat for 2 seconds. That opens the conversation.

Then look at the spot you want the cat to go to for 2 seconds.

Then look back at the cat for 1 once second before looking away to tell the cat the conversation is over and the cat will then move to the spot you indicated.

I tried this with Fay and was able to add to my Cat Dictionary.

I looked at Fay, she held an eye to eye gaze for 2 seconds.

Then I looked at the couch where I wanted her to sit for 2 seconds before looking back at her for 1 second then looking away.

When I looked back again she held by gaze for two seconds then she looked toward the kitchen.

Her response was clear, "Staff doesn't make requests. Now go fill my bowl with the GOOD food."
Oh my gosh, Dave - that's hilarious - thanks!
The original theory really was from a 'cat wisperer' site. I just can't find it again.

And I really did try that and she really diid look at the kitchen.
