I bought my 3 raggies as pets as none are of show quality. JJ has a kink in his tail, Emmy is mismarked and Timmy is just very small. However I have shown both Emmy and Timmy for the fun element and I am so pleased to share with you all my excitement that Emmy is now a Premier.
And the story to share about Emmy is that Emmy is short for Emily - and that when he was a kitten both Lynda, I and the vets mistook he for a she, and she was named Emily-Marie... imagine the shock we had when she went to be spayed and she turned out to be a he. We had to change his registration and everything, and hence the name unknown jewel!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that story--- and he's gorgeous!! No wonder he's won -- but here's my question. If he's mismarked, is he being shown as a ragdoll and do they not see the mismark or what? Just wondering....
Big Grin funny story for a very handsome cat Smile

Good question Teresa. Emmy is mismarked - his 'V' isn't correct. I show him as a Ragdoll so he is up against other well marked raggies etc. The judges are looking at the cats over-all and just occasionally the mis-marked if they have everything else that judge is looking for can make it and win first etc. I know though that even though he has his premier (I can't wait to receive his medal!!!) he won't go any further on the show bench as he would be up against the other premiers and he wouldn't stand a chance. But I tell you I am so pleased with him getting his title.
Emmy is lovely, as is his story. Congratulations on his becoming a Premier, I can understand how proud you must be.
What an unusual story! He's a lovely boy, even if he is 'mismarked'! Don't think he would have been a happy boy if he'd been spayed though!
Mary, you're too funny - lol!

Lynda - Emmy looks like a real sweetheart. I just love their furry pink toes. Smile
LOVED the story. The name is truly unique.
He is a jewel for sure. Great story.
