When I first took her to the Vet she shaved her and found a scar and said she was spayed.

Monday night when I let her out to the enclosed pool area she didn't stick close for the first time. She went to the far end by the house she used to live in and started yowling.

Tonight when I got in she was beyond affectionate. She was dragging herself on her side on the floor meowing and purring. Flipping to the other side and doing the same. She was all over me and rubbing against me more than usual. She hopped up on the computer chair and was rubbing her face against the arms. She's popping her butt up in the air. She calms for a while when I pet her.

She's yowling like mad. She started that last night. The yowling is what finally got through to me. It sounded familiar like a cat in heat.

Maybe it wasn't a spay scar or the original operation wasn't correct.

This right after I make arrangements to bring in a buddy for her Friday night.

Oh no!! Poor you! (which can also explain why she would pee outside the box - she may be spraying when in heat). There is a possibility when she was spayed that they missed one of the "horns" I think I've heard it termed (I'm sure a breeder here can correct me) and she is still having the hormones to produce the heat. I've heard of this happening in a couple of other female cats. Get her to the vet and have her checked out - and let them see her doing this. I think (not sure - but think) that you can have her spayed (again) even while she's in heat.

Hopefully if you can't get her spayed before then (if that is what it is) her buddy is neutered!!

What an idiot I am. I thought she just decided that she wanted to be an outdoor cat and I was going thru a battle of wills with her then I decided it was the rain that was scaring her and that's why she was so cuddly. I thought he was popping her butt up in the air was funny and that she wanted her butt near the tail scratched. Poor kid.

You're right Teresa, that would explain what happened at her former house. What a yowl she's putting out now. She's also licking a lot down there. No wonder she sounded so frustrated and sad last night. She woke me up with loud meowing at 3:30AM and again at 6:00AM. She had'ntdone that before in almost 3 weeks.

It's going to be a long loud night. She's lying by my chair as I type with a short period of quiet now.

I spent close to an hour with Sparky's foster mom on the phone earlier. I think threy'll understand the delay and probably get a kick out of it.

There's no such thing as a free cat. It's a good thing she's THE BEST CAT IN THE WORLD 'cause I think I'll have bought her Vet a BMW by the time I'm done.

I know this story is not funny, but it just struck my funny bone. I can just picture you sitting there, trying to ignore Fay, while she is saying, hey, cant u see I need some lovin by another feline? lol....

I hope everything is resolved soon.

I'll bet once you get her fixed that she'll put on weight quicker too. THey say that calling is hard on cats and can effect their weight.
