I'm going down to meet Sparky Friday night and if I'm approved by Sparky's foster mom he'll be home with me that night so we can spend the long weekend getting acquainted. I've left my Vet as a refernce to convince them what a good fur-parent I can be.

Sparkey is going to be a challenge. The foster mom made sure I got fair warning that Sparky is at the far end of people shy. He was rescued from basically being ferrel at 12 weeks and his rehab was put on the shelf temporarily because of a death in the foster mom's family (a Pommeranian). She said he had become an affectionate cat but then backslide to not trusting people when he wasn't getting attention. He'll hang out in the room with people but is skittish with them. She says he gets along great with cats so I'm hoping Fay will help in his rehab.

Sparky is listed by the rescue as a Raggie. Looks Raggish to me.

Sparky was rescued as a kitten with his brother Jake. He is about 9 months old. He has been living in a foster home since then. He likes being around other cats, playing on the climber, but still has trust issues with people. He needs a forever home where someone will be patient with him and give me time to settle in. Sparky is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
Oh my gosh!!! I'm so excited for you. Heck -- give the foster mother the forum address and let her read through all you've been through with Fay - that's testimony enough for you being a good kitty dad!!!! You can definitely overcome the shyness over time. I've posted many times about Samantha when I got her. She was almost 4 years old, a retired breeder, and had basically been ignored by her breeder because she was told not to get attached since she would have to eventually get rid of her breeders. I didn't get to really pet Samantha for weeks after she came home - now she's my true love bug - but still very shy of others - you may always have that to contend with. Only 2 more days.....I hope you get him -- I'm going to be so upset if you get there and want him and they don't let him come home with you!!!
Oh this is so great! He look so very sweet!
I can't understand how you can have beautiful cats like him and not give them attention they deserve. I know you will succeed with him Smile
They're working on Sparky's social skills for me. He let the foster mom play with his tail tonight.

I've been invited down to meet Sparky this weekend if I have time. I'm getting along well with Sparky's foster mom and the woman who runs the rescue by phone and e-mail. They've seen the before and after pics of Fay and liked what I did.
Hope everything goes well and Sparky comes home with you. He's beautiful. Like Elicia said, how on earth can you neglect a cat like that? (or any animal, really )
Looking forward to your next update!
Dave I do hope they let you have her .I know you would give her such a good home and how lucky she would be to have you for a daddy and Fay as a new sister.
He is gorgouse!
I'm sure they're just happy to find someone who will give him the time and attention and understands his problems. Most people who want a cat, don't want one they'll have to put extra time into to get a loving cat. I hope you get the time to go down and meet him this weekend. Fingers crossed he's a good match for you!!
aww he's really handsome. i hope all goes well with your meeting. but, from reading your posts about Fay, it seems you have all the patience and love in the world to give to him, so i'm sure that'll come through and they'll be happy to pass him along to live with you.
I will say a prayer for your visit to go well and he gets to come home to where he truly will be loved.
so dave were u able to meet sparky?
