Just thought I would tell you all that Webster is back at the vets tonight as I type this. Yesterday I noticed Webster was acting the same way he was before. In and out of the littler pan and little bits of pee. I called the vet and he told me what he thought our plan of action should be. He wanted to get an x-ray of Webs bladder and see if maybe there was a stone there. After he ruled out the stone then he would draw more urine from the bladder, culture it and determine what antibiotic should be used on the bacteria.
When I got Webster there, they took him and x-rayed him. I think the vets finding surprised him as much as they did me. Seems Mr. Webster is full of CRAP! His large intestines were FULL of pooh. The vets thinks that he was so constipated that he would go to the little pan and grunt so hard that he would only accomplish emptying his bladder. Anyway, He stayed and they gave him an ennima. I called to see if he was ready to come home and they told me he had what they would consider a "normal" bowel movement for a cat BUT the vet said he knew better and knew how much was in there so , they gave him 2 more ennima's and when I called he still had not went yet. They offered to keep him so that when the ennima's started working, I would not have poop all over my house. I excepted the offer lol. So hopefully we can finally get this all figured out. Poor Webster has been through what I am sure he would consider Hell! Not too mention how my heart breaks when I have to leave him there.
I'll keep you all up to date. Thanks for listening, Sue
Poor Webster. I have enough trouble leaving my kitties at home while i go to work. I can't image how you are feeling.

I hope his bowel movements are back to normal soon and he will be home with you - happy and comfortableSmile

It's good to know what the problem is. That is half the battle. Hopefully all will pass ( ahem), and he will be home shortly.
ahh isnt that an interesting diagnosis. well im sure all will be well soon. im sure he is appsolutely 'loving' enemas just like us humans do...like a hole in the head. haha.

you must be so happy that he has a diagnosis and a treatment (sort of).

he will be home soon, and moving his bowel normally.
Awww poor Webster,Will it sure is good that they kept him and they figured it out.I'm sure his belly feels so much better.
Does the vet no why he got so constipated?
Poor Webster! I hope he gets all cleaned out and feels better soon. Let us know how he is when you get him back home. I don't blame you for letting him stay there to "go"
Webster is home now. Poor guy cried for about 45 minutes after he got home. He must have really pooped his little heart out cause they had to wash his whole bottom before they brought him out to me. And Linda, in answer to your question. I don't know if they know what caused it. The vet was not in today and I have not spoken to him but, I will speak to him on Monday and find out what if anything he found in his stool. Before the enema, he was leaning towards hairballs. He said that would be the most obvious cause to him but he would check the stool. I will let you know more on Monday,
I have been told by the vet to take him off the antibiotic and watch him (this ought to be fun figuring out who is pooping and peeing in the pans huh?) The vet had suggested before to lock him in a room with a litter pan, food and water to watch him but I just can't do that to him. I don't want him to feel like he is being punished. It is bad enough the girls are not welcoming him home in a very nice way. You would think he had been gone for months the way they have responded to him.
The vet seems to think that Webster never had a UTI in the first place. He thinks it has been the constipation that has made him act the way he has and was very surprised to hear he had not been vomoting at all. He said generally when a cat is as backed up as Webster was, they are usually sick.
Thanks everyone for all your caring thoughts. I will keep you all posted, Sue

as for the girls.......they can be just nasty to the poor guy and all he wants is to just be thier buddy. No doubt a playmate is in the future for Webster.
Sue
Webster must smell funny to them after being at the vet. Poor guy having to put up with being shunned after what he's been through. I'm glad he's home now, and hopefully things will be good for him from now on.
