Hi Amanda!

well im back and it does seem that not much has changed with your greedy little man!

this may sound mad but why dont you try making him work for his food?

we do this with our dogs as vinnie was getting terribly overweight and is obsessed with food and like george he go to any length to get st the food he wants

we started by hiding it in upturned buckets so he had to search outside for it then wrapping it up in different layers and also putting his food inside toys it keeps him fit and amused for hours trying to find all the food!

anyhow enough of me rambling how are you and the family???

amanda xx
George does not spray, and we have no where outside of the house for him to stay. I do not want him separated from the house because A) he'd die of a broken heart and B) we dont have any sort of outdoor enclosure for him because we live in a townhouse and our property is pretty limited.

He's very greedy, and giving him any type of human food will do nothing but encourage him. I'd actually prefer to feed the cats RAW food, but unfortunately its really only him that would actually eat it. He eats the same amount of food regardless of what brand or type it is. When we fed Royal Canin (before we had the large dog-bowl) he ate 4 out of the 5 dishes of food every day. When we switched to nutrience kitten, he would still eat 4 out of the 5 dishes of food, we switched to proplan and got the large dog-bowl, and he ate about 3/4 of the bowl daily, the other cats dont eat nearly as much as he does, even when he's gone. I'm AFRAID to switch to a more expensive food like Orijen because I have a feeling that he'll STILL eat 3/4 of the bowl, even though its the best kibble around.

RAW food is out as well because he'd likely just get it in his head that its the same stuff as human food (which it kind of is) and he'd see no difference between what's in his bowl and what's on our plates at dinner time.

Unfortunately, if we had to hide the food from just George, it'd entail hiding it from EVERYONE because they all share the same dish. Its all kitten food so even the kittens eat out of it when we have them. We MIGHT have to schedule feeding time for the cats, but I'm afraid that doing so will cause his behavior to get worse because he'll believe that he's starving. I believe that at a year old, he should NOT weigh 18-20lbs yet. His own sire did not weigh that much at only a year!! He only got to be that heavy at around 2 or so. His dam is more or less a petite ragdoll, still large for the average cat, but is considered small for a ragdoll at only 9lbs.

The family's doing well, preparing for the new baby is pretty much all we're focusing on as of late. We're renovating the spare bedroom that we have and turning it into a nursery. Its difficult to do tho because my husband works and isnt home all the time anymore, and I'm not working anymore due to pregnancy/medical reasons and I'm more or less bored silly lol. I spend a lot of my time either cleaning, cooking, or on the computer. Its nice-ish outside so sometimes I go out and socialize but not often. My son doesnt like hanging out with mom cuz I'm no fun, and would rather be with his friends at "school" (daycare) lol.
