Boo had a big drooling problem last week. He started drooling heavily and was very lethargic all day Saturday; finally called the vet and she had me bring him in. Full exam, including x-rays, etc. Found nothing. Gave him some medicine to take to soothe his tummy which seemed to turn him around after two days and he's fine now.

I guess my question for you all is whether or not this has happened to you before? She said it could be he got into something although we only use all non-toxic cleaners in this house. He doesn't go outside. I did notice during the time he was sick he was licking his fur constantly so that makes me think he brushed up to something but for the life of me I can't figure it out. His teeth seem fine; he's not even 2 yet.

Any ideas? I hate for it to happen again!
I just wanted to say I'm so glad Boo is feeling better poor baby.
That had to be scary.
I'm sorry I don't have any advice I'm a new mommy ,how every I going to watch this post see what I can learn.
Hopefully one of are more experence owners will have ideas'
Hmm I had that after he played with a feathered wand. Suddenly he started drooling and was a little lethargic too (he was calmer and cuddlier than usual to the point he slept the whole night his head on my arm). On the other hand he was still hungry and didn't seem to be suffering from anything. As he has a history of allergies, I naturally thought about that right away and the vet agreed and gave him a shot to help dissipate the symptoms.
Now I wash every single toy entering the house and I'm even more careful with anything new...
He might have licked something that caused him to drool, and by chance alone also had one of THOSE nights where he didnt want to do much other than sleep.

Sometimes feathers are coated in catnip, and catnip causes all of my cats to drool and instead of making them hyper, they mellow out a lot and become "stoner kitties" lol.
The only raggies I've known this to happen to were allowed outside in a secure garden. Apprently one of them licked a toad (no kidding - this is a true story) and started drooling and got sick. The vet said that some toads have a poison on their skin and that's what apparently happened. He recovered just fine though.
Thanks for all the thoughts and ideas. It could've easily been feathers (he goes through lots of those "Da Birds"!) or maybe even a frog. While he doesn't go outside, we live in a rural area and last year we came home from a trip and rushed in the house to see him and couldn't find him; he had a tiny frog pinned in a corner. How the frog got in the house is beyond me, but it did, so maybe that was it. Anyway, he's fine now. I do think it's more likely that it was a toy of some sort. Thanks for the tips!!
