If breeders desexed pet kittens before they went to their new homes instead of relying on desexing contracts, there would be less Ragdoll crosses around to ruin the breed.
Why ruin something so perfect, our beautiful Ragdolls deserve the very best in life.
If you were to go to a pet adoption like at Petsmart or Petco where the rescue groups bring cats and kittens on weekends...the adoption fee winds up being around $125 I believe. Of course that covers the spay / neuter, vaccinations etc.
Well...if you check with Ragdoll breeders in your area you might be able to find a retiring young (not a kitten, but young) Ragdoll for $200 - $300. Not sure if that's something you could manage. The good news is you'd be getting a Ragdoll who was already spayed or neutered and of known temperment. Maybe that could be an option?

Seems this 'person' has disappeared!
I noticed one ad where mixed Ragdolls kitten were offered free to a loving home.
How can people be so irresponsible.
They should never offer kitten for free. If is the breed is mixed, a fee should be charged.
It keeps away the psychos.
They specify that they want a loving home for their kittens, but people can act and fool anyone.
When are they gonna learn?

This is very sad, if only Ragdoll breeders desexed all of their pet kittens before they went to their new homes, this would not happen.
I get asked on a regular basis would I allow a mongrel to be mated to my stud boys, when I push further its always the same they are supposed to desex the cat on a contract, but just wanted one litter first.
My answer is always the same, desex!
There are plenty of lovely cats needing homes, what a pity a few breeders allow this sort of thing to happen all over the world by not early desexing.

This is what you pay for when you buy a ragdoll.
You wanna pay for a cat with a random temprament because it has about the same colors as a ragdoll?
Might as well get a shelter cat. Im not saying that sheltercats are inferior, i just think tempering with purebreds and then claim money for it is wrong considering how different especiially this breed is in temperament compared to regular housecats.
Its basically a scam.

The new addition will be a birthday present for my partner (his big 4-0!), and he has always wanted a ragdoll.
We do NOT want a cat for breeding purposes, and cannot pay hundreds of dollars. (I know they're worth it, but I still don't have it.)
If anyone has a ragdoll for adoption, please contact me at rcduncan@me.com
Thanks!
