I just dont understand how people can just dispose of their cats. I dont care if i was moving to outerspace!!! My cats would both come with me.....Moving to me is not a valid reason for getting rid of your family members!!!!!!!!!! Ugh

I know. I can't believe that a move would be anymore stressful than them going to a new home. However, I do applaud that they are at least charging something for them, so this helps to narrow potential owners, and they haven't declawed them, and they keep them inside.

I know where I go my babies go. It would be like giving one of my sons away when they were smaller. Hummm why did it take me so long to think of that. Now they have given me grandkids so I think I just may keep the whole bunch even Ally is can be a almost 2 yr old little Miss Attitude when you say NO!
Anyway, it is sad to think people have to or do given their babies up but as you see it does happen.

Yeah I don't get that either. I was offered a great job in Buenos Aires a month ago and my first concern was my babies. As I was a little concerned about what I saw (not finding the right food, not sure about vets there as I don't speak Spanish fluently) I prefered to decline. I know my parents would have taken them so they wouldn't have been lost to me, but I just couldn't picture my life without my two boys.

I agree with all of you. Any place I choose to live Sebastian and Pixie would be with me. In fact we moved a month ago and they are just fine. It did not take them very long to adjust. I guess all of our belongings had the same smells but just in a different place. It would be harder on the 2 ragdolls the person is letting go of to get used to a new place with the same people then it would to deal with a new place, new belongings, and new people. I wanted to provide the link info in case anyone on the site wanted to adopt them. They need someone who understands and loves the breed that will provide them with a forever home.

I am with all of you,
I could not let my furries go any easier than I could my own human son,
Trouble is one day my son will go and make his own family,
Luckily not for many years yet though
Any place I am my raggies will be there too,

Has anyone thought to write to them and tell them the raggies would probably be just fine? I don't have my ragdoll yet so I can't but I did travel from California to Louisiana by van with 1 dog, 4 birds, 1 guinea pig, 1 bearded dragon, and one very large plecostmus in a bucket of water. All survived. AND then Hurricane Katrina hit and back across country we all came because my sister's house was damaged. The only one to not come back with us was my guinea pig. He passed away while we were there for 18 months. He was 7 years old and very old for a guinea pig.
It might help them to hear from raggie owners IF they really want to keep their babies!! Just a thought......

Agreed. We flew from Tokyo with our jack russell terrier 5 years ago. I realize dogs are different from cats with adjusting, but she did fine. She was upset when we left her at the airport, but by the time we saw her 9 or so hours later she was all right.

Hmm. I doubt they care about the raggies feelings because either way, the raggies have to move. Its an excuse that reads to me, "we are tired of the responsibility of cat ownership," because any true pet owner would make arrangements for their fur family members even if it meant living in a less fine environment.
That being said, I can see where someone who is moving to another country may decide to leave their animals behind, not knowing for sure the laws and circumstances where they might be going.
