I had never heard of a ragdoll before a couple weeks ago. My neighbors approached me about adopting a 9 year old neutered male named 'cosmo' whose owners just wanted to get rid of him. I thought about it for 48 hours, did some research, & agreed. I"M IN LOVE.
My last cat was a stray that I'd only had 6 months & she just died one morning on my bed. Tore me up.
Anyway, I'm glad cosmo is with me, & I want to take the BEST care possible of him. I found you all, & I hope to make friends here.
Cosmo is a smoky seal point with mitts? & boots? I gotta learn the language! Big Grin

Welcome!!! Smile
Hi and welcome! Oh yes, sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a raggie addict! There is something very special about the breed. So glad that you were able to take Cosmo -- I'm always shocked when someone wants to "get rid" of such loving cats! Not sure what Cosmo is without seeing him, but he could be a seal mitted from the way you're talking. A seal mitted has dark face ears and tail, white chin (unless mismarked like my girl Simone), and white mitts on the front and usually back legs that are white (unless mismarked once again like my girl Smile ) but then most raggies have some kind of mismark unless they are show quality.

Look forward to seeing pics of Cosmo and hearing more about him!! Congrats on your new addition.

Hi and welcome to the forum - I'm glad you have taken on Cosmo - like Teresa I can't fathom how anybody would want to get rid of a pet after 9 years - mine are like children to me.... from your description he sure sounds like a seal mitted to me, can't wait to see pictures Big Grin
Thanks for the warm welcome :}. TeresaK, yup - I think he's a seal point - you've described him. He's so loving, Nicky I think his previous family just didn't have time. Two small children & both parents working. Sounds as though he had the run of the basement by himself. He's not alone now-we play & he follows me from room to room. He'll sit in the doorway if I'm doing something active. I'm not computer savy - but I've got a friend who is. IT'S TIME TO LEARN HOW TO POST PHOTOS!!
I feel very, very lucky.
