I have a few questions about our newest kitten who is a blue bicolor. Gussies fur is soft all over and fluffy like a bunny. Blue's fur is soft but has coarser parts in areas where his fur is a different color. Do some ragdolls have coarser hair as kittens?

Today is Day 2. Gussie is still hissing and crying at him, but it is getting a little better. I am surprised at how territorial she is after only 1 month. She was born Oct. 22, and he, Nov. 9. Are they close enough in age that they will become best friends, or is it possible she will never take to him?

When we first got her she was a chubby round ball of fluff. Blue is too skinny, and all bony angles. His legs seem to be longer. The vet yesterday said he will fill out. It is certainly amazing to see how Gussie has grown after only one month. We didn't get to see Gussie's siblings or any other ragdoll at the first breeder. At Blue's breeder we didn't see his siblings either but did meet all the other beautiful cats, and younger kittens than Blue. Part of the tip of Blues ear will be white. I know we come in all shapes and sizes, but do ragdoll kittens look so differently from each other as well?

Thanks for any help.
I can tell you that fur can definitely be different. Simone has coarse thick fur, and Samantha's feels like a rabbits and is very fine.

Perhaps Blue is going through a real growing stage now where he's used up his baby fat for a while, and will gain and fill out. I'm sure you're feeding kitten food which will help with that as it has extra calories and nutrition.

I'm sure things will get better with Gussie - she's just used to getting all the attention and now it's being split, but just give it time and I bet before long you'll be posting pics of them curled up together. They are definitely still young enough to adjust to each other.

Teresa I can't thank you enough for answering. He came home with an infection so the vet put him on antibiotics, and Gussie was angry, and he was crying...and I felt just like I did when I brought my first son home from the hosptial thinking, "now what do I do?" So thanks for calming me down, much appreciated.
Hey - I still remember the day I brought my two home from the breeder. They came from the same breeder so they knew each other, and they were older (retired breeders) but they kept having spats with each other and I became stressed and that stressed them more (it was before I knew they could pick up on my stress) and I started thinking I had made a huge mistake in getting them! Within a couple of days things were so much better, and now I can't imagine my life without them. Just stay calm and remember it will all work out....

Lots of hugs in the meantime
Just wanted to tell you that Gussie and Sebastian Blue are now friends. She still gets upset when he bites her too hard (he is a big biter) but they sleep together, play together, squabble together etc. What a difference a day makes! Especially in their growth, which I swear is happening right in front of my eyes.
