hi everyone .. im new here .. so HI
i am about to get a new ragdoll kitten .. but i can only have one, seeing as i work 8 hours monday to friday - my little guy will be at home without me .. is it true he will get depressed? i have 2 rabbits that could keep him company .. would he get along with the rabbits ?
thanksss
hi and welcome. I have dogs and I recently added a ragdoll kitten. She cuddles with the dogs, but they are older and play differently. So she looks more to me for play and amusement. So today I am getting a second ragdoll for her to play and grow old with. And also for me!

My son works 8 hours and bought two kittens who keep each other happy, contented and out of mischief while he is gone. They are not bored during the day because they have each other.

Having said that, I am not an expert by any means, and there are very qualified ragdoll owners and breeders on this forum, who can give you better info. Whatever you decide, they are wonderful.
Don't mean to hijack this thread but Judy!! Good for you!!!

I just think so much of it depends on the temperament of your ragdoll kitten. I know that my Samantha would be happy as an only cat, but Simone would hate being an only cat. Remember that if your kitten needs companionship, it doesn't necessarily have to be another ragdoll kitten, but there are many kittens out there that need a home.
Discuss it with the breeder. Although this is not fully predictable, the breeder may have a better feel for the likelihood of the problem with particular kittens. However, as a breed, Ragdolls do want company and if it is absolutely impossible to get another cat (or dog) if "needed" (and it may not be), then perhaps another breed is a better choice. (At least two cats are almost always best for all cats. With Ragdolls, there is much more than twice the fun and much less than twice the trouble.)
