To tell the reverse of the situation,

I've had a spayed female actually posture and was more than happy to get mounted by a whole male! It was the strangest thing in the world.. I suspect it was just to get it over with tho on the female's part because she got sick of the male harassing her lol. Not here, when I was younger and was first getting into ragdolls.
Familytimerags Wrote:I have had a cat get closed pyo, so I do know how awful it can be on the cat. She was doing fine, and then started to fall downhill quickly. It was quite a surprise to find out that she had pyo, and it was a severe case. She was hospitalized for over a week, as the vet cut out the infected and dead tissue. She was only 13 months of age, and by what my vet said, she had had it for awhile.

We had a 8mo old kitten that also developed PYO. The infection was life threatening and we decided that spaying her was the best thing. It was the youngest cat my vet as seen with this condition.

We also had a girl that developed CEH (Cystic Endometrial Hyperplasa) sp? at a year old. PYO was just setting in at the time she was spayed.

Both girls were rehomed and are totally happy and I can't believe the how beautiful they both have gotten.
