I was just wondering. Our boys have a lot of hair on the base of their feet, inbetween pads. We've left it alone, but should we be trimming this hair??

Here's a pic of Caesar with his foot exposed to show you what I mean...Is that a lot for them to have?

NO TRIMMING OF TOE TUFTS! ; )
Lol ok, Thanks Jan.

I wasn't sure if it was uncomfortable for them or not. So I'm glad I've left it alone.
You aren't the first person to ask that LOL!! I just love the toe hair personally and wouldn't you know, my girls' is really short!!
haha Jemimah's toe hair is really long too & I refuse to trim it because I think it's cute! I've always assumed it was because she mostly walks about on timber flooring and rarely on carpet or other surfaces, so it never gets a chance to be worn down!
Maybe that's why my girls don't have it -- they are on carpet all the time.
I find cat litteer stuck in between so any cat not being shown for the next three months has a toe tuff trimming included in their bath routine.
Heehee I call toe fur 'toehawks' but I'm not sure it's really worthy of the name until it looks like this... http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/...4f2555.jpg
Snowman has a good bit of this which I occasionally trim when he's a bit clumsy where he treads in the box. Rolleyes

Jan I used to dog groom and was always taught that knots were like humans having rocks in their shoes? If you have a kitten or younger cats who may get litter box debris in their paw hairs would it not be okay to trim it?

If dogs get normal sanitary cuts, why wouldn't cats as well? I mozer Theo's back region and his paw pads?

Just wondering?
