Aww Sad
I understand the feeling... When Diwan had his diarrhea because of his allergies (took me 3 months to realize it was allergies), I gave him daily a natural treatment to help him feel better. I must say he started avoiding me at times and wasn't as close even though he was still a kitten (we had the problem between 4 and 7 months). He is still cuddly and loves to be around me, but sometimes I have the feeling that in trying to alleviate his symptoms I damaged our relationship a little... He didn't know me well enough and I almost immediately start pushing different remedies down his throat Sad
Nicky knows you're doing this to make him feel better, you've had a loving relationship with him for so manu years now. He withdraws now because he doesn't like what you're doing, but I'm sure that as soon as the treatment will stop, everything will be back to normal Smile
He may not really be withdrawing as much as just not feeling good. Antibiotics can make a person not feel so good and I'm sure it's the same with a cat. I'm sure he'll come around when all the meds are over with and his chin feels better.
Yes, I know he isn't feeling well (he hasn't been eating much lately either) in addition to trying to avoid me and my 'treatments'. Sad
poor nicky i hope he is feeling better very soon..

just so he can get back to giving mummy lots of love!

How is Nicky feeling now?

Tammy
His chin is starting to look much better, though it is still pretty swollen. We will continue to do the oral antibiotics for another week, as well as the anti-inflammatory medication. He doesn't mind the epsom salt soaks too much, but he REALLY HATED the topical antibiotic, so after talking with our vet, we've decided to forgo that treatment for the time being. Thanks for asking!

Oh, and I think he's starting to feel better. We are seeing more and more of him walking around the house (rather than withdrawing), and for the last two early mornings I've been awakened by him purring on my chest. Tongue YAY!!!! And staring at me with those big blue eyes of his..... 'sigh'
Debbie,
so glad to hear he is doing better. funny thing I noticed my persian starting to get feline acne. wierd part is I recently switched to stainless steel bowls.
