So I have a one bedroom, 600 sf. condo. It's just me and Henri right now... but maybe getting a kitten here soon! Is my condo 2 small for another ragdoll? I just don't want them to feel cramped...

Oh, also, completly different, but I have never cut my Henri's nails.. I take her to get them done. For those of you that do, what product do you recommend? I've seen alot of advertisements for the pedi paws I think it's called? It's always on the top add at this website. What do you think works best?

THANKS so much!!!
No, I don't think that space is too small. I think you'll find that Henri will even get more exercise by running around it with another cat in the house!

Now as for trimming nails. I used to hire someone in to do the girls' until one time Samantha had an upsetting episode for some reason - screaming and trying to bite the person holding her that I refused to do that to her again - so I started doing them myself. I have a pair of 4.0 reading glasses (magnifies really good!) that I put on and I have a little pair of cat nail clippers. I started out having my husband hold them while I did it, but soon I was able to do them myself with virtually no problems. I have their favorite treat in my pocket when I do it and as soon as I do them, I hold them until I get the treat out and can put it down when I put them down. Now it doesn't take me any time.

As for the Pedipaws -- all I can do is laugh -- I can't imagine one of my girls letting me use that on them!!
Thanks Teresa!!! I thought the pedi paws was a little silly also. It could get a little spendy taking both the girls to get there nails done... : ) I'm going to give it a try and try to do hers. There's just SO many different brands out there!!!

Oh the fun of being a mom: ) hehe
The space is not a problem for two cats.

There are various styles of nail clipper and choosing just depends on preference in your hand. I would not expect the pedi paw to work. We most often use the guillotine style. The one below has the advantage of replacement blades and it is important that the clippers be kept sharp to avoid crushing the claw.

thanks Jan! I really like that one!!
I use regular toenail clippers.
I don't see a condo being an issue, even with 2 kittens/cats. You may want to add interactive play into your everyday routine, if they seem to be having the "crazies". Ours Ragdolls even get what we call the "crazies", running up and down the cat trees, flying over the furniture for a few minutes, like their tail is on fire, and it stops about as quickly as it begun.
I did good using the trimmers Jan uses on the dogs, but I never could use them well with our cats. I tried a few different ones, but ended up using these. For us, they are the easiest to use.

I haven't heard good reviews about the petipaw for cat owners, but it seems to be a hit with dog groomers. We have used a small dremel tool on our big dogs nails, it works well. They had dark nails, and easy to cut the quick, the dremel has worked well for the dogs.

Is the new kitten a Ragdoll? Tell us all about him or her!!Smile
