Hi Everyone,

This forum has really taken off, and we have more and more members. I have noticed that I am forgetting who is who, where everyone is from, so I thought it would help to get to know each other a bit more. I know we have some from here in the States, and many from other places, and it would be exciting to hear where everyone is from.

My name is Stormi from Oklahoma, USA.

Where are you from??Smile

Purrs,
Stormi
My name is Judy and I am from Muskegon, Michigan. Muskegon is on the shores of Lake Michigan. We live about 5 miles from the lake. We have just the one raggie, Gus. He is 14 weeks old and has only been with us 2 weeks. I am in my mid 50's, my children are grown and have left us with an empty nest. I have 2 grandchildren. I am an RN, still working 4 days a week. I check this site daily. Gus is a true joy! I have never had such an affectionate kitten before! Enough about me, anxious to read about all of you out there too.
Ok....Hi.....I am Sharon, i am from Sydney Australia. I am 33 and have 2 children, Jessica (6) & Zachary (3), and a wonderful OH, Brett. I am owned by 2 ragdolls Roarie and Jaz aged 21 weeks. I work full time in Child Protection, and i love to read and scrapbook - oh and this forum.

Pleased to meet you all.
Nicky from Cherry Gardens, South Australia I have 2 (furless) kids Taylor (8) and Dylan (5)and of course the   OH Wayne who puts up with the menagerie.  We live on a 20 acre property with a collection of money eaters -cows, horses, dogs, sheep, bunny, Guinea pig, galah, alpaca and 2 raggies (of course) Merlin and Brie. Oh and I own a mobile dog washing round that I work 4 days a week. Like I didnt have enough to do! Hobbies? horse riding, reading and hangin out with my kids. used to show and breed dogs before the kids came along. Missing it now, maybe I should get a show raggie?!!
Hi Judy, Nicky, and Sharon!!Smile

It looks like we are tied right now, USA vs. Aussi's!! It is nice to know where you are all from.
I have 2 upright furless children, they are my joy as well. Ashlan is 10 and Joey is 7. I used to be a vet tech, until we had children, and I decided I wanted to be a full time Mom, which has been very rewarding. We have been owned by Ragdolls for a little over 7 years, and after a lot of research and help, finally decided we wanted to breed them. It has been a family hobby of showing and breeding, that our entire family has bonded around.
We did have 2 Old English Sheepdogs, 1 passed a year ago, from brain tumor, he is not been forgotten, but I have not been able to get another one, as it feels as if he would be replaced. I am blessed to still have his sister, Annabelle, healthy and happy. I love animals, I wish we didn't live in suburbia, and could live on more land, I think we would have many animals. Other hobbies, include, pedigree tracing, gardening, forums, and just plain ol' fun with my family.

It was really nice getting to know each of you on a more personal level, I can't wait to meet more of you. Keep on posting, and sharing your Ragdoll stories and pictures!!

Hi Nicky,

You sound like you stay VERY busy, but you sound like you have my dream life, surrrounded by many animals, and iyour mobile dog washing service sounds like a lot of work, but fun as well. We thought about breeding dogs, for about 2 years, but even though I felt we had the knowledge, the breed I chose, has shown to have a lot of health problems, as well as the breed pool continues to get smaller with more and more inbreeding, and I couldn't do it. After loosing Jack, at 4, I know we had made the right decision.
One question though, what is a Galah? I will have to go google and find out, my curiosity is peaked.Big Grin

Purrs,

Seeing i am on here and from Nicky's end of the world......a Galah is a bird, like a cockatoo but different sort of....LOL Nicky will have to explain in detail as i have never had one....but in short it is a largish bird......Nicky the floor is all of yours for the detailed explanation.....i have just spent two minutes showing my ignorance,.......LOL
Nicky, You refer to your husband as OH...what does that mean...around here it might be OM for Old Man...LOL! Judy and Gus
Hi Judy - when i use it it means Other Half........unsure if Nicky's is the same or another explanation.
