Happy Holidays everyone!! I am curious as to how many hours a day your Ragdolls sleep? Sebastian seems to sleep most of the day. It seems that I only see him up for a couple hours a day when I am home. He gets up in the morning when I do to get his treats, then lays back down. In the evening he sometimes gets up around 6 only to lay back down around 8. I know he could be up during the day when I am at work but my son says normally he is sleeping. Could it be that because it is the winter months here that he would sleep more?
hi teekabo

I find that during the week when the kids are at school and hubby at work Milo sleeps most of the day , he has his favourite spot and that's where he will be from the time I leave till I get back......

however the weekends when everyone is home he generally is alot more active and doesn't leave our sides following from room to room etc....

He seems contented in fact quite often if I call him or wake him he gives me the lookSmile like
really mum I was sleeping you know?
Thanks Melissa,
Wishing you happy holidays too, Big Grin
Both of our Raggies sleep for most of the day and for most of the night as well,
But ours sleep more in the summer months,
Our summer heat seems to suck the life out of them as it does to the majority of us humans and plants too,
The reptiles dont mind the heat thoughRolleyes

They say that cats in general sleep for 18 hours a day but I think our Raggies may do a little more than that,
I'm glad to hear that another is concerned over how much their raggies sleep. From time to time if I think about it, I get concerned too!! They get me up at 6:00am for their wet food in the mornings, then may go on the deck for a while, but by the time I leave home at 7:00am they are usually settling in for the day. My husband, who is home all day, says they just sleep, although he finds them in different places sleeping throughout the day. When I come home at 5pm, they are up and stay up until around 6pm when they conk out again for a couple of hours to get up around 9pm when we usually play until 10 when I go to bed. However, I find on weekends when I'm home they do tend to stay up more and are always with me when I'm at home. Sometimes I fear they have a boring life!
Cats and kittens sleep a lot, but should play as well, particularly kittens. If they do not - or you cannot entice hard play with wands and other interactive toys, then a vet visit is in order. Always be attuned to changes in behavior and try to figure out the source. Expect at least two active play periods per day from a kitten.
Sebastian is up more on the weekends when I am home. I usually can get him to play with the laser pointer although it is hard for him to get a chase at it with Lilly and Pixie. As soon as they hear me pull the laser pointer out they come running. He will especially play if I have some bags out but I haven't done that since he got caught in the handles of 2 gift bags a few weeks ago. Next time I am out getting some groceries I am going to get him a paper bag with no handles.
