Hi friends,

Our new little boy Toby has been a little naughty a couple of times of late,
He has chewed the end of the mobile phone charger and now chewed my fav headphones decapitating the plug,

It hasent been possible to tell him off by sharp word or water spray because we havent actually caught him in the act,

I would have great trouble telling him off even if I did catch him, especially if he gave me that gorgeous look,

Just wondering if anybody else has had a wire chewing Raggie, I know there was a thread about it some time ago,

Nikita never ever chewed anything, would he be teething at around 3.5 months old ?,

Just need to make sure there are no live wires around that he can access for a while,

Milo is a chewer and always has been he annoys the crap out of me with the computer wires he gets so tangled little bugger.... and given half and second he would eat them. As he is getting older nearly one! is improving but I still watch him carefully only the other day he pulled stuff of the xmas tree and we have a santa door stop and he loves chewing santa beard! I keep telling him he will be on the naughty list!

We have had a few "chewers" before, and we do our best to keep the wires up and away, but as you know not every wire can get out of the reach of a persistant kitten.
We have found that using things like bitter apple on the wires or another safe, but bitter tasting spray placed on the wires will usually help to prevent chewing.
When you catch him in the act of chewing, try using a noise maker and tell him no, and divert his attention to something positive. A spray bottle may have the same affect, but I know there are some Ragdolls that don't mind getting sprayed with water.

Stormi, I think I will try the bitter sprays,
I think Toby would be one raggie that wouldnt mind the water spray,
He loves to play in the bathtub with a very slow drip of water that we start for him,
Its great fun watching him paw at the drops and try and catch them with his mouth, he always ends up with a wet head,

Luckily so far Toby has only been interested in wires that have an end he can chew off, he hasent bothered with ones that are attached or plugged in to something boths ends,

Moe liked wires at that age...the spray bottle worked for him...when I caught him in the act. He doesn't bother with them anymore!
