Atrus's fur has been very staticy lately. When I comb him it puffs out and stands on end. Today when I got home I went to pet him and his fur reached up to meet my hand and even crackled a bit as I ran my hand across his back. My hair does this in the winter too, but that's a lot easier to fix. Is there anything I can do about it? I don't think he's really noticed yet, or if he has he doesn't care, so I guess I could just ignore it if it's not a problem.
He will not care, except when he gets zapped. You can reduce it for both of you with more humidity, even by putting out a warm bowl of water. There are also static reducing grooming sprays.

During a bath, I finish my kitten off with a very light coat of conditioner. It does seem to help for a bit.

In winter, we get a very static filled home, so we use humidifiers to bring more moisture into the air. Also helping dry winter skin.

Rubbing a simple dryer sheet will also help for a temporary fix.

I use the grooming sprays also, they work very well.

I noticed Moe's fur was very staticy yesterday after brushing him...will have to try some of the suggestions. Smile
