Hi all

hoping someone can give me some advice, we had enzo neutered a few weeks ago now which all went fine as you all said it would!!

i have noticed today though that enzo has a very greasy spot on the base of his tail. is this what you describe as stud tail? is it possible for him to get this as he has been neutered?? and how do i sort it out??

is it bathtime for enzo?

thanks xx
Sounds like stud tail but I have no idea what you do for it...I'm sure someone will know though.
Neutered cats can get stud tail. Whether a bath is needed depends on how bad it is. If you want to bathe, then start with Dawn dish liquid or Groomer's Goop on the oily area, perhaps more than once, and then bathe as usual. If you do not first focus on removal of the oiliness, then you will just spread it throughout the coat. If it is not causing irritation or redness or fur loss - and it does not bother you - then you can wait and see.
thanks i will bathe him today

i dont think it is causing him any discomfort it just makes him lokk a bit unkempt!!

and we all know how much we like to show our raggies off!
We had the same deal with the Mo-Man. He was 5 when he got neutered, and his stud tail was nasty before then. It took almost a year before it cleared up completely. We ended up using powder every now and then to keep it under control. Mo HATES water! k
