I was at a friend's house watching football and they had just moved to a new place, so her Siamese mix cat was very stressed and skittish.... She was carrying him to say hi to us, and I stupidly went to give him a little pet when the scared cat just sank his fangs deep into my hand!!!!
It hurt so bad and he got me really good! I have two pretty deep punctures and 4 smaller ones.. It scared me to death . I have never ever had this happen and I have learned my lesson. Never ever pet a stressed out kitty..even if they are not a stranger. My hand definitely paid the price for that awful misjudgment.
Ouch! Wash those wounds and make sure you keep an eye on your hand for infection. Hope it feels better soon!
Yes infection can happen very quickly
It's too bad about the bite and the other stressed kitty
Oh my gosh. That is scary....hopefully antibiotics will take care it, but I bet it is painful.
Years ago, I adopted a feral kitten. My neighbor came over to see him, and I greeted her at the door with the kitten in my arms. She asked if she could him hold and I said that I thought it would okay, but explained he was quite feral towards other people......well as soon as she got him in her arms, he spit, hissed and grabbed onto her face with his front paws, clawing her.....she left bleeding. Thankfully she understood the situation with him and healed quickly with no infection or scars. I hope the same for you Parker's Mom.
Ouch is right! What did the owners say? I hope it doesn't hurt too much and doesn't get infected.
You might need to go to the dr just as a precaution. Many times those bites become infected. Poor kitty, and poor you!!
Yeah as our dog instructor told us never pet from going from the front but go from the back as some times they are scared and will do what taught to do bite or scratch for protection. I would make sure you watch it and neosporin should take care of it I would think. So sorry about your not so good of adventure.
Ouch, yes you will want to watch it very closely.
My son got nailed by Oscar in the hand few months ago really good.Oscar was scared of the noise from the power drill that my husband was using. He went to pick him up and Oscar turned and sunk his teeth into my sons hand he still has the scar from Oscar.
We had my son soak his hand in warm soapy water off and on for a few days and treated with neosporin .No infection but a nice scar.
My wounds are looking ok, not infected. The only issue is my pinkie and the side that got bitten is swollen

it's not as painful as it was last night, actually just annoying that I have a hard time doing stuff sine I am right handed.
Are ragdolls capable of attacking like this under stressful situations? I don't know how I would be if Parker ever did that to me or someone else...it kind of traumatizes me. I now will not pet my friend's cat because of the fear...even though it was my fault, he is still capable of reacting that way...enough for me to steer clear.
I do not know if ragdolls would. I have never seen our boys but my Liberty scratched me when the vacuum was first introduced to her. Now she just runs to me. Yeah, James does the vacuuming for some reason.
I am glad you are doing better and soon maybe you will feel well enough to pet the cat under calm supervision and then maybe not. Just take it moment by moment. I am glad I use either hand.
My grandson was right handed til he got burned and now is a lefty. I tell him he can not do things right.
Continue to let us know how you are doing.
