Kittens, ragdolls or not, are still kittens and will play and get into mischief. Over time they calm down though. My 7 year old plays much more now than my 4 year old does. As I type this she is entertaining herself running through her tunnel and attacking her turbo scratcher and chasing her mylar balls in between doing those two things, while my 4 year old watches her from the condo. I opted to adopt older cats (retired breeders) because I didn't think I could deal with a kitten with mine and my husband's restful lifestyle.
My 4 year old who doesn't play so much is the one always into mischief. She's the one that can open my kitchen cabinets and get in. Or is the first to jump into a closet when it is open (and sometimes get shut in).
But it is so much fun to watch them whatever they're doing.

well i can only speak for MIlo he is 11 months old now.....I would say that under 5months he was really playful but as he is getting older he is more layed back he still loves his toys the favourites are ping pong balls and drinking straws which he loves to chew and carry around the place
He seems to let me know by talking to me that he wants attention like come on are you gonna play or flop and drop means i want a belly rub or a brush.
Raggies do seem to be a more layed back type of cat .... I have children who are disabled and Milo is fantastic with the kids he is also good with other people holding him too.

I found my Raggies to be as playful as any other kitten I have had,
They chase balls, lazer dots , run at full speed losing traction on the tiles and crashing into the wall,
I must admit my girl, Nikita didnt play much after about 7 months but new little Toby has brought the kitten out in her again,
After a short burst of hard play they will both flop near each other,
Honestly cant say they have got up to mischief during play but sometimes when preparing food it is a challenge to keep them off of the kitchen bench,
It honestly doesnt worry me if my Raggies are on the kitchen cupboard but it doesnt look good when preparing meals with visitors over,
Especially those visitors who just tolerate cats and havent yet discoved the pleasures in loving and having them,

my ragdoll is eight months old now he is very playfull but has calmed down a little since we got him
he no longer attacks toes at night but he does get into mischief with my dog (they play a lot!)
in the evenings he now just lays with the family on the comfiest lap.

Ragdolls do seem to calm down and be more true to their charcteristics as they get older. I also agree that Ragdoll kittens are the same as any kitten, they are very busy and playful, and then they rest, with periods of being active.
I also think the actvity level will depend on the individual Ragdoll, some will be more laid back than others, and some will stay more active. If you are planning on adding a Ragdoll to your family, I would visit a breeder close to you, and let them know what you are looking for in a pet. The breeder can help to place a kitten that is more reserved or more playful, depending on what personality you are hoping for.
