Hello all...although I know some things about the Ragdoll breed I am not so familiar with the colorings and markings. I am wondering if anyone knows a good website that has good pictures of the colors and markings. I have searched but have not been able to find a good one. With the prospect of getting a kitten I would like to know how the kitten will eventually look with the coloring and markings, although the personality of the kitten will be the ultimate decision maker.
There are some good examples here:

Here is another site, with photos.

This is easier to understand if you break things into categories.

There are three patterns with each depending on the amount of white. The colorpoint has no white, the mitted has some and the bicolor has the most.

The colors come in dense and dilute pairs. The traditional pairs are:

seal/blue
chocolate/lilac

Reds were added later and the basic dense/dilute pairs are

flame/cream
tortie (also called seal tortie)/ blue/cream (also called blue tortie)

Torties are girls.

The other new addition is lynx, which adds tabby stripes on the points to all of the other combinations.
