Hi,
I took ivy to vets last night and she thought ivy had cat flu as I suspected. She is now on a course of synulox drops and hope she feels better soon. The vet said she is quite underweight for her size so feed her little and often. Is there any particular food I could put her on that may help with this? Thanks x
Food for kittens for sure. It has more calories. I "free feed" my cats. And I think most everybody on this forum also free feed. They have dry food out in their bowl 24/7. Food is always out for them. In addition you could put out wet food. Maybe in the morning and again before bed. Wet food can give your kitten loose stools so you'll have to figure that one out yourself. I've been giving mine Wellness turkey, grain free. The key is not to change the food you give her. It takes about a week for the digestion track to get used to the new food. And it's best to gradulualy change from one to the other.
Your best resource on this forum is to use the "search" button. Put in key word like under weight, diarrhea, wet food, grain free, etc. this topic has been discussed many times and the answers are right here on the forum already answered.
We love answering whatever questions and don't mind repeating ourselves. Especially is you share pictures.

I hope your little one gets better. You're on the right track by visiting the vet.
Good luck!
Sorry your poor little fur baby isn't well!

I think Darla has given you good advice already. I also free feed mine and especially because she isn't well try not to change the food she's been on as their little tummies do take time to adjust, hope little Ivy gets better soon and hope to see pics of her.
Please keep us updated as to how she's doing....poor baby!
You've received some good advice. Praying for your little Ivy, and for you. Just give her lots of love and cuddles along with her medicine and plenty of water (access to water).
Free feeding along with canned a couple times a day - I guess it depends on what the "breeder" was feeding her, start with that but do make sure it is good for kittens as they need more nourishment. As a few said if they have not had canned it can give them runny poop. Mine never had dry until recently - they still don't like it lol which is good as dry without any wet is not as good for them. Kittens should be able to eat when ever they are hungry.
We have always free fed the cats. Liberty is suppose to be on kitten food and does get it in the morning and night. She has discovered how to climb over into the cat area into their food and she likes that better.
I am not too worried about it. She is going to be a big girl for sure.
So glad you took her to the vet and now on the road to recovery. Thanks for the update.
Aww the poor little dear, thinking of you both!
I took my little guy to the vet for his rabies vacine last week (it was his4 mo. bday). Hehad a bad reaction and ended up back at thevets the next day with a fever and very listless. He had to have fluids. He bounced back later that night but it was very scary. Has anyone had a similar experience?
I've not had an experience like this and it sounds like you''ve been through a rather rough time with your little fur baby, hope Ivy feels better soon.
I'm no expert but I'm just wondering whether the reaction he had to the rabies shot had something to do with the fact that he had been so ill with cat flu only a couple of weeks ago??!!
Jack didn't have the flu. That was Ivy. He has been very healthy.
