Hi All!
I recently rescued a Ragdoll (about 2-3 months ago) from a bad situation. He is probably about 7-8 years old and his owners were making him live outside in their barn with another cat. The other cat was bullied and Simon (his new name with me) was not able to eat his food and kept trying to get back into his house, but his owners did not want him in. They were going to dump him in a kill shelter but my vet stepped in and I ended up taking him (long story). Anyway, turns out Simon was hyperthyroid. The poor cat was skin and bones, weighed only 7 pounds (he should be at least 15), and had awful diarrhea (probably from worms and the hyper-t).
I took him to the specialty vet and did the RI-131 for his hyper-t since he was a candidate. That was about three weeks ago, and he is doing well. For the time being I have a huge dog crate set up for him in my foster room, one of my cats resides in the foster room with Simon, they get along very well, I usually leave Simon out in the foster room with my other cat, but sometimes confine him to his crate if I think they need a break from each other. I'm slowing introducing him to the rest of the house, I have 8 cats total, including Simon. It's going okay, but I'm going very slowly and am cautious, as I don't want Simon to feel to intimidated by some of my boys
I am in love with this cat, never had a ragdoll before! I had a Maine Coon years ago before I got involved in rescue and I thought they were great cats, but the raggies are incredible~!
I'm going to try and attach a picture of my beautiful boy...so nice to meet you all and I hope to be on here pretty often reading all about these wonderful cats

Oh my goodness, Simon is just gorgeous. Thank you so much for giving him a better life, he must be so grateful. How much weight has he already gained? Is he on tapazole now for the hyperthyroid? He looks so healthy and beautiful now, and I commend you for being there for him, and for the slow introductions too. I hope to hear more as time goes on about his story and your other furkids.
