I'm interested in this beautiful seal lynx mitted girl to add to my cattery. She's got a nice pedigree, and is well-marked.. I think.

Here's the only GOOD picture that the breeder could get of this playful explorer who I am going to call Aiyla if I do get her. She's pretty, and wiggly. So it was apparently hard to get a good shot of her... this is the best one.

And just for sport, here's another one that shows more of her mittens but less of her face lol.

Anywho.. I'm asking the more experienced breeders out here what you think of her. I'll try to get a better shot of her. I am going to see her tomorrow and take pics of her myself.

Please let me know what you think
Thanks

Ok, I'm not a breeder and have no opinion on her looks, but I guess in just looking at the pics, I'm concerned with where they are taken at. Doesn't look like this little one got to be raised inside with the family which would be a concern of mine if I was looking at her even as a pet.
They have a cattery, but raise the kittens in their home. I'm going to see the kitten myself tomorrow before placing any deposit so that I can check them out. This cattery is reputable and they almost never have kittens available as they've got waiting lists out the wazoo. Also, the place that I got Stella from has a cat from them, and they dont deal with people who dont follow a standard that they set out. I was referred to them by the cattery where Stella came from, because they didnt have what I was looking for.
OH and I think she said that they're renovating so the cats are in the cattery a lot right now lol.
The pictures are not a very good way to see the type, so I am unable to help you there. In my opinion the front mitts are too low, and may affect her show career. Are either of the parents titled?
As I have learned with my Koda Bear and his dark chin, the WSF can follow into the kittens, so my other concern would be that she would pass the low mitts onto her kittens. The mitts should begin at the bend of the paw, and each toe white. It isn't a DQ though, so she could still be shown, but if it comes to this girl and another Ragdoll both being very nice type, the judge will have to decide based on pattern, if the pattern is then better on the other Ragdoll, she may not get a final.
I think what concerned me the most, is it looks like the kitten has either an eye cold or an eye scratch, along with discharge out of the right eye.
You did mention the kittens are raised in the home, but it appears to be cages in the background?? You will be visiting the home, so you will be able to make your opinions based on what you see when you are there.
Also, it may just be the photo, but in one of the photos it appears to be orange on the nose, could she be a Seal Torbie? It was hard to tell in the photo.

Enjoy your trip to meet the breeder and kitten, and best wishes.

I'm no breeder or expert (by any stretch of the imagination) but shouldn't a well marked cat have better marked mits than that?
Hi Gregg and Paul,

Yes, the mitts should begin at the bend of the paw and each toe should be all white. It is not a disqualification, though.

I'm not saying that I'll take her yet, but I'd like to see her first.
Oh and that's not discharge apparently, its banding from the lynx patterns. Seiya's mitts started that way, at the tips and slowly migrated up... they're only 2 weeks apart so her looks may change. I'll see tho, I'm asking because I want to be sure.
I would go and see her, for sure. She may be everything you are looking for, in your breeding program. Unfortunately, pictures aren't the best to give opinions by, as you can see. You asked for opinions, and I hope I didn't offend you.
A year ago, I wouldn't have mentioned the mitts, with the exception of showing. I am still learning, and that is why I mentioned my Koda Bear, and the reasons we decided to retire him. I didn't want to continue producing mitted and bicolors with pigmented chins. I just wanted you to know that if she keeps her low mitts, that the kittens she has, some may have the lower mitts, and some may have perfect mitts. I just wanted to share what I have learned, in the fact of the WSF, can be carried on to further generations.

Best Wishes.
Stormi
