The casinos in Germany are closed to gambling in the morning, and as such, are open for tours. These shots were taken of the interior of the casino in Baden-Baden in the southwestern region of the country. Nothing like any casino I have ever been in!!!
The "Parade of "Princes" in Dresden. This was originally a mural, however, when it started to fade, they redid it utilizing over 24,000 meissen tiles. It shows the progression of the German rulers.
Although the Wall no longer exists, Berlin has memorialized it by putting a double row of red bricks where the Wall once stood.
Sections of what used to be the Wall.
The Glienecke Bridge, outside of Berlin. It was the bridge were the spies were traded between the Soviet and the West.
Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, at night.
I hope that you enjoyed the pictures. I return to work tomorrow. Time to return to the real world. If nothing else, I can start to save for my next trip.
I've never thought much about going to Germany, but your pictures are amazing. I guess I'm going to have to rethink things and start saving my money. Thank you so much for sharing.....

Pepper ~ it is a wonderful country to visit. I am of German ancestry and had 4 years of German in high school. As such, this was a vacation I have been wanting to do for years. I am so glad that I went. The pictures that I posted are only a sampling of the over 700 pictures that I took. I found the western region of the country wonderful with all the smaller towns and being in more of the countryside. While in what used to be Eastern Germany, it was eye-opening to see what life was like while under Soviet rule, as well as to see what has all been built/rebuilt since the wall came down and reunification.
WOW !! Karen, what a great vacation !! I have never been to Germany, it looks lke a fascinating place to visit! If you ever save to come to the UK let me know !!

Nicky ~ thanks for the offer. This was actually the second tour that I took with the tour company that I used. About 15 years ago I did a tour of Southern England. I toured and saw Stonehedge, Bath, the Moors, Plymouth, Stratford, Cambridge and London. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Bath. Such a wonderful town, rich in history.
Thank you so much for sharing these pictures! Makes me want to visit the travel agent! What a beautiful place and so rich in history.
ALL I can say is I felt I was there too. Thanks for sharing your vacation with me. My husband also has alot of German in him and southern(hillbilly) as I call him. Thanks again
Wonderful pictures, I would love to travel someday. I had planned on doing it after I retire, now my hubby tells me he doesn't like to travel - after 30 years of being together. Tough I am going to find a travel partner and go anyway! These pictures just make me more determined. Good for you in following though with your dreams
Rebecca ~ if your husband does not object, and you cannot find someone to go with you, go on your own. I have travelled both in the States, as well as in Europe, on my own. Traveling with a tour helps in that you are with a group for company.
Awesome pics.. thanks for sharing!
