Here's a silly question from an uninformed Canadian (who's never seen a kangaroo except at the zoo!) Can you just go pick up kangaroo at your local grocery store?

I do have the same question about the kangaroo though, LOL. What does it taste like? I dont know if i could eat a kangaroo..they are too cute, ha ha.

Dear Yvonne and Christina,

Kangaroo is eaten by humans but no where on the same scale as say Beef or Lamb,

Its often i dish in restuarants,

It is a very strong meat and very low in fat,
For humans it is recommended to be eaten cooked no more than medium/rare and normally marinated in some way,

For Nikita we buy human consumption roo meat which is roughly minced (not as finely minced as beef would normally be)

We always freeze any raw below -20 (celcius) before giving it to Nikita as I was told it is safer, freeze before feed is quite popular over here,

Nikita absolutaly loves her roo meat, she goes crazy over it,
Sometimes she even looks a bit feral after a feed, blood down her ruff etc,
But we all know she isnt feral though
She soon preens herself again,
