We're keeping a kitten back from this litter, my blue lynx mitted (bicolor? I've been told by a few breeders he was a bicolor, and I've been told by others that he's a mitted with a blaze. I'm confused as I'm not 100% sure who is right). I was hesitant to at first because he's a male, and I've been saying since he was born "Its too bad you're not a girl". Well.. I'm keeping him. He's too darn pretty to let go. Yes, he's mismarked, but OMG.. he weighs 4lbs at 9 weeks old and is BEAUTIFUL. He's got such nice heavy boning, beautiful long hair, ice-blue eyes and absolutely no mismarks on his mittens or boots and a white white chin.

Jaws, lol no, its not the shark! Its my bf's initials (Jeff. A. W). Seiya is very much Jeff's baby, so Jaw's bub is quite fitting! Seiya is his call name. If we cannot get his championship because of his imperfect bicolor, we may use him as a therapy cat for children, the elderly, the disabled, and the terminally ill (assuming he wont make them sicker that is). He's such a nice looking kitten that I cannot help but want to keep him.

So here he is

Oh, and he is sooo incredibly floppy that he goes limp as SOON as you pick him up, and he LOVES being with people soooo much!
aw he a cutie I dont know how you stopped at keeping just one kitten I would want to keep them all hehe
I couldn't see if he had mitts going down his front legs, if he does, he will breed as a genetic mitted, and will throw the blaze to some of his kittens.

If he doesn't have mitts, then he is a bicolor with an asymmetrical V.

If he is a mitted, he can not be shown, as his nose leather is not fully pigmented. If he is a bicolor, I believe he could be shown.

I would try to take him to at least one show, and get a couple of judges opinions on his type, and then you can decide if you want to keep him for your breeding program.

In may just be the photo, but I don't see any lynx markings. I don't see the white eyeliner, or tabby marks on his forehead. Is one of the parents lynx?

He is a very cute boy, and a very unique name. How do you pronounce Seiya? (Say-ya)?

Purrs,
Stormi
He's got mittens, and a white chin and "bib". His front paws look as though he dipped them in milk, and his back paws go all the way up to just below his bum.

Shylo had "socks" but not mittens. I've noticed that as he gets bigger, the white goes higher and higher up on his feet (it started out as just the very tips of his toes, and now its his entire paw, and just a little higher with "anklets" for socks)

Its just the picture lol, his tail has little ringlets on it, but what's weird is he's got no earliner, and the eyeliner around his eyes isnt too pronounced. Angel is a lynx, she's a blue cream torbie bicolor. Its also hard to see her lynx patterns, but her stripes on her face are hidden in her tortie coloring and bicolor pattern (the M kind of goes along her bicolor lol)

Seiya is pronounced "Say-yah" with the "yah" pronounced very much like saying "ya" as in "didnt ya know it's sunday?"
*blush* here's where I got his name from LOL

She says his name at the end of the clip LOL

He's such a beautiful kitten and I feel that even though he's got that mismarked face, he will still be a good asset to my program because of his personality, size, coat-type (its obscenely soft even for a kitten) and that eyecolor of his is quite intense, which is something I breed for.
Kittens will often have "ghost" marking on their tails even if they are not lynx so dont get to caught up on the tail, look for the other signs of it
A cat who has no white eyeliner or white ear edges is not lynx and one is just seeing tabby banding, which is something one wants to avoid. Avoiding banding can be difficult, particularly in the dilutes and reds. By the picture, the mismarked kitten in the back is not lynx.
Are the parents both bicolour?
If so the kitten can't be a mitted as that would only produce colourpoints, bicolours and High white bicolours.

And I'd also say that the kitten doesnt look to be tabby/lynx. But im not an expert.

Either way Seiya sure is a cutie!
A true bicolor mated to a high mitted bicolor can have a mitted kitten.
